What People Are Saying.

August 17, 2010

Mr. McGowan,

I would like to express my gratitude to you and your company for providing excellent quality homes at a good value to me and my clients. I have worked in and around the construction business for over ten years and its not often I can make the above statement.

I was and continue to be impressed with the professionalism and competence of all your employees. Tom Phahuta and Craig Hudgens were a pleasure to work with. I have enjoyed my time with them and I know my clients have as well. Since day one I have felt that Tom and Craig had my and my client's best interest at heart. Their professionalism, communication and respect were extremely refreshing and not something that you often find in the process of building a new home. They made the process an enjoyable one and I am truly grateful for that.

I am proud to own a Regent home in Burkitt Place and I am equally proud to show my clients the wonderful possibilities that come with working with your company.

Sincerely,

About Us

Regent Homes and Companies inhabits a special place in the Middle Tennessee homebuilding market. Founded in 2000, Regent Homes is a proponent of Traditional Neighborhood Developments. Its communities are targeted at specific consumer groups from various income levels, including single-family homebuyers, empty-nesters, young couples with children, middle-age to older buyers and also homebuyers with special needs. This is accomplished by offering mixed-use developments with different housing options, such as single-family homes, townhomes, town center homes (condos), condominium leasing and neighborhood retail.

The appeal of the homebuilder’s walkable, mixed-use communities is evident. The success of communities like Lenox Village has propelled Regent Homes to become the sixth largest builder in the Greater Nashville area and has earned the company prestigious accolades, such as the Smart Growth Award, the AIA Design Award and the Friendly Street Award.

The Team

David McGowan, president of Regent Homes, takes pride in the professional team behind Regent Homes. McGowan, whose father was a builder, received a BA degree with a major in political science and a minor in economics from the University of South Alabama. Vice president Rick Blackburn earned a Bachelor of Science in civil engineering from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.

The core management team behind Regent Homes also includes:

  • Michael Jacobs, vice president of construction
  • John Burns, vice president of purchasing
  • John Barcroft, vice president/controller
  • Donny Walker, manager/quality control manager
  • Randy Smith, sales manager
  • Elizabeth Hernandez, administrative assistant

The efforts of Regent’s dedicated team have resulted in more than 1,200 satisfied customers to date in the builder’s numerous communities. In addition to Lenox Village in Nashville, Regent Homes has crafted many other successful communities throughout Middle Tennessee, including Lenox Creekside, Lenox of Smyrna, Brighton Village, Valley View Village, Primm Springs Estates, Arden Village and the company’s West End developments of the Artie Lee building, the Ruby May building and Wesley Bernard.

The Regent Homes Vision

What sets Regent Homes apart is its commitment to developing traditional neighborhoods. Whether the community features wide sidewalks, tree-lined streets and pocket parks or all of these features plus retail and restaurants, Regent Homes creates neighborhoods that are naturally active and close-knit.

Lenox Village embodies all that Regent Homes seeks to offer. Its homes are as diverse as its residents. The architecture seen throughout the community is a classic Southern style. The homes available in this community include single-family units, townhomes, live/work spaces and the multifamily Town Center, which will offer 300 condominiums. Every Regent home features high-end and energy-efficient components but still remain budget friendly.

Regent Homes also showcases its ability in Lenox Village to successfully mix commercial spaces and neighborhood retail in a residential setting. Residents of Lenox Village are within walking distance to restaurants, retailers and service providers. All of this is set amidst beautiful hillside views. And of course, just like any Regent Homes community, there are the walkable, tree-lined streets with ornamental lighting, wide sidewalks and pocket parks.

The end result is that residents are able to enjoy a carefree, low-maintenance lifestyle. This is the hallmark of not just Lenox Village but any Regent Homes community.

A Community Partner

To create successful communities, Regent Homes recognizes the importance of working with other talented professionals. The company has partnered in the past with the following architectural firms, engineers and banking institutes: Architectural services: Looney Ricks Kiss, Smith & Associates, Crossroads, Kline Swinney Associates, Mark Lynn Architectural Services Ben Baggett Architect, Inc. and InForm Architects. The engineering teams of TLC Engineering, Anderson Delk Epps and Associates, NJC Incorporated and Gary Batson. Banking associates include: Bancorp South, Bank of America, Regions Bank, Reliant Bank, Greenbank, Pinnacle Bank and Avenue Bank. At Lenox Village, RAM Partners manages the leasing of Town Center homes and Brookside Properties oversees the commercial leasing.

It’s also no surprise that Regent Homes’ dedication to creating communities that people love to live in carries over to its relationship to the Middle Tennessee area and concern for community organizations. He and Rick Blackburn also serve on the MTSU Advisory Board for Land Development and Residential Construction program.
